Joshua- almost 8 months old- here are the many things I love about you:
I love your bright eyes and your ready smile. I love your squeels and your ridiculous delight in blowing rasberries all day long. I love your curiosity and focus. I love your kissably soft and chubby cheeks. I love that you smell like warm milk. I love your giggles. I love your chubby thighs. I love the way you stare at your own hands and feet in perfect admiration and amazement; truthfully, I look at you the same way. I love how you take every moment as it comes, good or bad. I love how easily you go back to playing when you get a bump or a scratch; all you need is Mama or Dada to hold you and coo and all is well again. I love all the funny faces you make, and so very much more. You and David are the reasons I get up every day. I love you. |

Joshua is 7.5 months old. He's no longer a floppy blob of a person- he's a smiley, playful, curious, drooling little monkey. He's starting to be more mobile, does a bit of an army crawl, and it totally terrifies me. I'm so not ready to be chasing him around while he searches for death/makes a mess. No more plopping him on a blanket with a few toys while I internetz. What will I do?!
Hubby let me sleep in until 1pm today, while he watched the boy and cleaned the house. Then he made me food. I love him. I feel very fortunate to have him.
Tomorrow I'm going to the March For Life in Boise with Diane, then she's treating me to lunch. Should be nice, if it doesn't rain.
Did I mention this? The Boy was born with dark brown hair, but when it fell out, it grew back in blonde. I have a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy. WTF. I'm sure he'll go back to being a brunette as he gets older, but I hope he keeps his blue eyes, like his daddy did. |

I am a single man in my early 40's with no family in town, and I am desperate to connect with people who share my love of books. I am ultimately looking for someone who would just like to listen to me read as they drift off into a peaceful sleep. I really enjoy the feeling of watching people's eyelids getting heavier and heavier untill they fall into a restful slumber. I have a large collection of short stories, science fiction, medievil tales of knights, dragons, and worlocks, as well as some really spooky ghost stories. Just let me know what your in to, there's a good chance I have the perfect book! I can provide references of other people I have read to, I am not looking for compensation of any kind, just some relaxing time alone with you and my books!

So I was going to do something legit and give the baby a bath, but there's a big ass spider in the bathtub, so I figured I'd just hop on the internets and wait for hubs to come home so he can kill it. Baby is sleeping. Or at least he's quiet, which is just as good.
Haven't been up to much. We went to the fair on Wednesday. We saw a ventriloquist (thank you spell-check) show, a wildlife show, and watched a guy wrestle an alligator. Awesome. We also went on the ferris wheel and saw an art show. We missed the guys performing with yo-yos. :(
We got a dog off craigslist. He's a sweetie. ( Storm! )
Both cats ran away. Then one returned after over a month. It was the more retarded one, Fiona, but I still love her.
Wednesday we're going to see the titanic exhibit at the museum. Sometime this month I want to go the water park and to lucky peak (swimming!).
Josh is 3 months old now. He's getting better to be around, now that he's 'talking' and smiling and playing a bit.

So David and I are hanging out in bed last night, I'm watching tv, he's playing with the baby, when I hear something along the lines of "Look at you, your tongue is turning green!" I turn and David is giving our 2 month old his freezer pop. He doesn't get why this might be a bad thing to do...
In other news- Josh is starting to sleep more at night. He's started going to sleep at midnight and waking to eat at four, then waking every 2-3 hrs after until about 11am. Last night he went to bed at 9:30 and woke at about 3am. Its something, I guess. My two pregnant sister-in-laws (one is 38 wks and the other 14 wks- both with their firsts- we're having our own little baby boom in this family) think he should be sleeping through the night already. Ha ha FUNNY. |

This isn't bragging, but at least once or twice a month some stranger will say something to me about my hair. This lady came up to us the other day while we were looking at the kitties in petsmart and told me I have 'fairy tale princess' hair. She asked me if she could touch it. She looked like a perfectly ordinary person besides, no warning at all that here was an individual who might go around asking to touch strangers' hair. I guess its something that she asked first.
